I haven’t done enough baking this year, which was one of the main problems I had with having a shop (and not working at home), but that’s going to change. Now! I’ve decided to try out my baked goods on the unsuspecting public. I had the idea when I was thinking about the upcoming Christmas markets. Who doesn’t like getting cookies as stocking stuffers, or just nibbling on sweet treats while wandering around a Christmas market?! I know I have a sweet tooth, but I’m not the only one (*^_^*)
SO, this week, I toured around pinterest looking for inspiration, pinned a bunch of stuff that I thought would be eye catching and good for Christmas. And, this morning, I woke up and had a Canadian moment, decided that I wanted to make butter tarts, which led to the idea of making nanaimo bars, and have now made both. Well, actually, I found a recipe for butter tart bars (which is maybe really what made me think about nanaimo bars) so I made those and not butter tarts.
The butter tarts bars were really easy and the nanaimo bars were a little messier to make than I had expected, but also quite easy. They are both cooling. I wil write more when they are ready and tested.
